SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH/PORT HEALTH OFFICER
£32,011 - £38,115 + Essential Car User Allowance and Port Health Stand by Payment (circa £2,778 per annum)
Crawley Borough Council is pleased to offer this varied and interesting role within the Environmental Services Team.
As Environmental Health/Port Health Officer in our busy team you will need to be familiar with practices and legislation relating to port health especially in regards to imported food and have a proven background in general district type environmental health work. You must hold a relevant qualification to be qualified as an inspector of food stuffs i.e. be an auxiliary veterinarian and hold Environmental Health Officers Registration Board certificate or equivalent. Some additional weekend duties working at London Gatwick Airport are a requirement of this role for which an additional monthly allowance is paid.
You will need to be able to keep clear and accurate records, work to tight deadlines and have a positive attitude, plus be a good team player and possess excellent customer skills in a fast moving environment. Knowledge of EU 669/2009, EU 884/2014 and 885/2014 experience in regards pollution control would highly beneficial.
