G7 Enforcement Team ManagersRegulatory Delivery (x5)

Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS)

Nationwide (able to attend the Birmingham office on a regular basis)

Taking responsibility for business, industrial strategy, science, innovation, energy and climate change, BEIS in a multi-layered government department that puts the consumer at the heart of every decision. Enforcing regulatory compliance and seeking out ways in which the British economy will continue to thrive, our people are innovative, creative and respected.

Our impending exit from the European Union has provided an excellent opportunity to expand our fast-paced team with likeminded individuals who are passionate about supporting the nation. As we enter this exciting period of change, we are therefore seeking five inspirational Team Managers who will promote a culture of collaborative working to achieve outstanding results.

In this newly created regulatory role, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for either Ecodesign, Pollution Control, Working with Ports and Borders, Working with Local Authorities, or Investigations.

Across all roles, you will report to the Assistant Director as you support our mission to protect people and save businesses time and money. Working with a broad cross-section of stakeholders, you will plan, review and deliver investigations, seeing them through to prosecution where necessary. Monitoring and reporting on the progress of these activities, you will also work with the leadership team to develop enforcement and engagement strategies, taking responsibility for elements of the budget.

It goes without saying that you’ll need great leadership qualities, with the confidence to develop the skills of the team and garner respect in a regulatory environment. As such, you will have relevant knowledge of leading in an investigative capacity with solid communication skills and the ability to balance multiple projects.

It would be an added bonus if you have a full driving licence, plus experience of giving evidence in court or a recognised investigative qualification or accreditation. In return, you can expect a good work/life balance supported by a generous benefit scheme plus the flexibility to work full-time, part-time or job share – all enhanced by the knowledge that your work is directly improving the lives of millions.
