Environmental Protection Officer
Our Local Authority client in South London is recruiting for an enthusiastic, committed and self-motivated Environmental Protection Officer to provide a reactive Environmental Protection statutory nuisance service to local residents, and professional advice to Planning and Licensing on request.
The post holder will also be responsible for providing a re-active service response to complaints of statutory nuisance, arising from environmental protection issues; primarily relating to smoke nuisance, nuisance from construction works, and emissions from commercial premises and will contribute to the Team's role in providing professional, technical and regulatory advice to service users, particularly relating to; air quality, industrial process operation, acoustic assessments, and contaminated land.
They require someone who is extremely proficient in statuary nuisance, pollution and reactive noise work.
As a member of the team you will be asked to initiate enforcement action, where necessary, relating to infringements of relevant legislation (Environmental Protection Act 1990).
Our client requires someone who can hit the ground running and as such, you will need a minimum of working 2+ years within this field for a local authority. It would be desirable if you are EHORB registered but not an essential requirement.
The contract will initially run for 3 months, rates are currently to be determined but can be negotiated depending on experience.
