District Environmental Health Officer

21.75 hours, Band F, salary £17,090 - £18,960 per annum

The successful candidate will have responsibility for delivering a range of interventions relating to food safety, workplace health and safety, infectious disease control and imported food within North West Leicestershire.

North West Leicestershire is arguably one of the best strategically placed districts in the country – often referred to as being in the ‘Golden Triangle’. It sits between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire with easy access to Leicester, Nottingham and Derby, the M42, the M1 and East Midlands Airport. In addition, half the district is covered by The National Forest making it a desirable and convenient location to live and work. The council has good relationships with partners and stakeholders across all sectors and benefi ts from being well managed financially and from having a coaching culture; underlining the people focus and a forward-thinking approach.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Environmental Health Officers who are seeking to further their career. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain rapport with customers.
