Team Manager, Food and Safety
[PO6] £42,876 to £45,666

Following a re-structure, we are looking to recruit to a key manager position within the Selective Licensing and Regulation service area of Waltham Forest Council.

The Selective Licensing and Regulation service plays key regulatory and advisory roles in safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of local residents across a range of service areas:-

Waltham Forest is home to approximately 2000 food businesses. As Team Manager of the Food Safety team, the successful candidate will manage a team of Environmental Health Enforcement Officers responsible for the enforcement of food hygiene and standards legislation in commercial food premises, the investigation of complaints from the general public, health & safety and the investigation of notifiable infectious diseases. They will also play a key role in ensuring that their service is fully commercial, maximising income generation and exhausting external funding streams.

About Waltham Forest
The London Borough of Waltham Forest is fiercely ambitious. We want to make sure each and every one of our residents enjoys a quality life in London.

Join our plans for growth

We have a hugely ambitious growth agenda and pride ourselves on being forward thinking and an organisation that sets high expectations. We are working with partners to secure investment in making our borough a better place, are progressing with plans to build 12,000 new homes by 2020, and have an ambitious £5million digital programme, with more investment to come.

Be part of the vision

Our aim is that every single Waltham Forest resident enjoys a good quality life. We have a no-nonsense approach to getting things done and are embarking on a new phase in our transformation where four key principles – resident focused, digitally driven, commercially minded and insight led – will underpin everything we do for our residents.
