The Service Delivery Directorate is currently seeking an Environmental Health Specialist in Disabled Facilities Grants/Housing Enforcement working as part of a multi-disciplinary team contributing to the delivery of the Council’s Health & Wellbeing strategy.

This role will be to provide specialist advice regarding Disabled Facilities Grants, and legislative and best practice advice on a range of housing enforcement, HMO enforcement/ HMO licencing matters, Mobile Home licencing ,enforcement and Empty Dwellings.

This role will be key in supporting teams across the council, including Specialist’s, Case Management and Mobile Locality.

You will need to possess Degree/Diploma or relevant post graduate qualification in environmental health/relevant qualification.  Full membership of relevant professional body is also essential.

You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have experience of dealing with other professionals and members of the public in person and on the telephone. You will also be required to demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm, even when the pressure of workload is high.
