Environmental Health Officer/Higher Certificate Technical Officer
Our client in Essex is recruiting for a Higher Certificate Technical Officer or Environmental Health Officer to:
- Discharge the Councils statutory and non-statutory functions as well as it’s related strategies and policies with regards to Food Safety and the Health & Safety at Work Act by carrying out Food Hygiene and Food Standards inspections & enforcement in registered food premises.
- Support businesses to achieve full legal compliance through advice and education programs but where necessary take the appropriate and proportionate enforcement actions in accordance with National and Council policies and relevant legislative provisions to safeguard public health and the food supply chain.
- Respond to, and where necessary investigate and report upon complaints and requests for service in relation to Food Safety and related legislation within commercial food premises. Where necessary liaising with the relevant external agencies.
- Investigate reported infectious disease complaints where gastrointestinal or food poisoning outbreaks are suspected.
To be considered you must hold one of the baseline qualifications, and have associated registration. The base line qualifications are Higher Certificate in Food Control or certificate of registration or Diploma issued by Environmental Health Registration Board.
The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and have at least 20 hours of Food Core CPD as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.
A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB (or equivalent) must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences.
Rate £26.00 - £31.00 per hour depending on experience.
