Posts 1 and 2: 37 hpw, permanent.

We are seeking two permanent officers who are committed to delivering the councils aim of everyone having an opportunity of living in a decent home. With a capital programme of over 1 million pounds and a proactive approach to enforcement, you will be able to make a real difference to people's lives.

Officers are involved in the full range of private sector housing work, including enforcement of housing standards, renewal and regeneration, disabled facilities grants and project work to improve private rented sector standards.

You will have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health, be registered with the EHRB (or shortly to be registered with the EHRB) and be a member of CIEH. You will also need to demonstrate recent experience of working in the area of Private Sector Housing.

It is essential to have knowledge of environmental health, housing and grants legislation and associated guidance to these areas.

Post 3: 18.5 hpw, fixed term for 6 months.

We are seeking a fixed term, part time officer who is committed to delivering the council's aim of ensuring all food businesses in the borough are of a minimum 4 food hygiene rating.

Officers are also involved in investigating food complaints, food sampling and undertaking infectious disease investigations.

You will have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health, be registered with the EHRB and be a member of CIEH. You will also need to demonstrate that you meet the relevant competencies and CPD requirements laid out in Chapter 4 of the Food Law Code of Practice.
