Environmental Health Officer 

PERMANENT - 37 HOURS PER WEEK

BAND 7 (£28,485 - £31,601)

ESSENTIAL CAR USER ALLOWANCE (SUBJECT TO ANNUAL REVIEW)

We are inviting applications from dedicated, passionate and motivated Environmental Health Officers.

Working within the Council’ Commercial Team you will  manage a varied workload from Food Safety, Health and Safety, the investigation of a range of complaints including nuisance, animal welfare licencing and ship sanitation inspections.

You will be based in Great Yarmouth which is located uniquely in the Broads National Park and boasts 15 miles of sandy beaches, a thriving port serving the oil and gas industries and a diverse multi-cultural population.

This has proved to be a challenging role that requires an individual with very developed organisational and motivational skills.

An ability to work closely with members of the public and businesses, undertaking practical demonstrations and communicating using a variety of tools are important skills for this role.

Experience of working in food safety, health and safety, commercial related nuisance and/or port health would be desirable. However, we are interested in hearing from you if you feel you’re the right person for the job but don’t have the experience.

You will have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health and be EHORB registered. 

You must be prepared to work outside normal office hours including participating on a stand by Environmental Services rota which is currently payable
