Contaminated Land Officer
Working on behalf of a Local Authority East London, Buckingham Futures has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contaminated Land Officer
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Contaminated Land Officer to join the busy but friendly Pollution Service, part of the wider Environmental Services Team.
Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Council’s updated contaminated land strategy, implement legislative controls and advise the Council and community on contaminated land matters.
You will oversee and undertake site investigations, research historical records and make informed judgments on contaminated land, develop applications and suggest appropriate means to mitigate risk. You will also possess proficient technical and legal knowledge to inform decisions on appropriate remediation techniques.
You will have practical and proven experience, having previously worked in a local authority or regulatory environment. You will also possess a degree qualification in a relevant scientific or environmental discipline incorporating contaminated land.
