Environmental Health Compliance Officer /  Environmental Health Officer

Salary: £34,052 TO £38,325 per annum

Hours: 37 per week

Do you want to be part of a team that puts the ‘customer first’?

Are you looking to use your skills to deliver customer focused efficient services?

Do you want to work for a Council that has ambitious plans to transform the way we deliver services?

If you answered yes to the above then you could be just what we are looking for…

Huntingdonshire District Council has an ambitious programme of activities within its Corporate Plan that seek to drive growth and investment in the local economy whilst at the same time challenging itself to deliver good services at lower cost. To make savings, while still providing the high quality of services local people want and deserve, we need to do things differently.

A vacancy has arisen in the team for an experienced Environmental Health Compliance Officer, or Environmental Health Officer and the Council seeks applications from officers competent to undertake official controls against either of these job profiles. In taking on this exciting role you will be part of a team working to deliver services in a truly transformational way to meet the challenges of the Council’s Corporate Plan, and making the District a safe place to work, live and visit.

As an experienced Environmental Health/Environmental Health Compliance Officer you will be expected to demonstrate not only the core skills and competency required to deliver the Council’s official food controls, but be committed to supporting businesses to comply with legislation, delivery of Primary Authority Partnerships and have a desire to challenge the way things are done; stimulating and contributing to change.

The role is part of a team dealing with food, health and safety, infectious disease control, health promotion and training. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to cross-service work and the wider corporate agenda.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Susan Walford - Operational Manager (Business) at: susan.walford@huntingdonshire.gov.uk or call on 01480 388002.
