We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer for the Private Sector Housing Team. 

Applications are invited from experienced or newly qualified Environmental Health Officers who are committed to delivering the councils aim of everyone having an opportunity of living in a decent home. With a capital programme of over 1 million pounds and a proactive approach to enforcement, you will be able to make a real difference to people's lives. 

Officers are involved in the full range of private sector housing work, including enforcement of housing standards, discretionary grants, disabled facilities grants and project work to improve private rented sector standards. 

Experience required and qualities: 

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Health 
  • EHRB Registration (applications will be considered from students awaiting final registration with the CIEH) 
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health 
  • Demonstrable recent experience of working in the area of private sector housing. 

*progressing to £32,747 - £34,813 pa
