About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a new forward thinking team within a Shared Environmental Health Service, encompassing the full spectrum of environmental health and licensing services which have been recently formed by Mole Valley and Tandridge District Councils.  It aims to deliver a resilient service that is both responsive to customer needs and business focused.

This particular role is to join the Residential and Environmental team consisting of seven professional and scientific officers delivering services and projects across the partner authorities, but primarily based in Mole Valley.

The Residential and Environment Team services currently include:

  • Housing standards
  • Licensing HMOs
  • Caravan Site licensing
  • Contaminated land
  • Air quality
  • Statutory nuisance
  • Supporting the partners antisocial behaviour strategies
  • Miscellaneous residential and environmental complaints
  • Supporting other team goals

Opportunities to contribute to the goals of other teams will be available to those who want to keep their professional profile wide ranging including primary authority work.

This represents a unique opportunity to help contribute to the development a new shared service whilst further developing your knowledge and skills.

About you

You will be experienced in Housing and/or Pollution work, but looking to gain more skills and experience.

You will be looking for a positive change and able to offer us commitment, enthusiasm and the personal qualities to contribute to the work of a lively and performance orientated shared service.

You will be a team player, but capable of working on your own initiative with minimal supervision.

In return we also offer a flexible approach through smarter working to secure our service objectives.
