Within a shared service working across two authorities, progressing towards a single council, we are seeking confident, enthusiastic and innovative officers with drive and determination to join our dedicated team.

Working within the Housing Standards team you will be expected to manage your own caseload, investigating and enforcing the full range of legislation across public health and housing, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.  Implementing existing and new legal measures to tackle poor conditions and landlords, including HMOs.

Supporting the service delivery, you will take a lead co-ordinating role on a key priority area, which include the private rented sector, empty homes and nuisance.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified housing professional with some experience in housing, HHSRS assessments and projects. It is also desirable that you have some experience in assessing planning applications, with particular regard to nuisance control.

Site visits are required in a large rural area and so the suitable candidate will need to hold a current driving license.

In return our benefits package includes a competitive salary and pension scheme, discounts on supermarkets and high street shops, cashback on holidays, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme and money off household bills together with flexible working arrangements, learning and development opportunities and generous annual leave entitlement.

If this is a challenge that you are interested in, or if you're not qualified but looking for career progression role, then we would like to hear from you.
