ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TEAM MANAGER – environmental protection
Salary: £42,876 - £45,666 (incl London Weighting)
Employment Term: Permanent and fixed term contracts available
Hours: 35 Hours per week (full time)

We are seeking an exceptional team manager with a can-do attitude and problem solving focus. Flexible working patterns can be accommodated within service needs. Work outside normal office hours is integral to the role.
The team deal mostly with high profile proactive pollution control work including planning and Licensing applications (responsible authority), environmental permitting, contaminated land, air quality and construction hours/conditions. There is some reactive complaint work. Improving Air Quality is a cabinet priority with strong member engagement. We have achieved cleaner air borough status, there is opportunity to lead and drive forward actions under our air quality action plan and we have been awarded a Low Emission Neighbourhood project by the Mayor of London. There is lots of new development and regeneration taking place with associated input from the team including Crossrail and Tideway tunnel construction projects, and major development/infrastructure projects proposed – eg silvertown river crossing, new power station. We provide noise responsible authority input to events on Blackheath, at the O2 and other parks/public spaces.
