Environmental Protection Officer
Our Local Authority client in Yorkshire is recruiting for an enthusiastic, committed and self-motivated Environmental Protection Officer to work in their pollution team.
They require someone who is extremely proficient in statuary nuisance, pollution and reactive noise work.
As a member of the team, you will be asked to initiate enforcement action, where necessary, relating to infringements of relevant legislation (Environmental Protection Act 1990). You will need to deal with reactive complaints work and will vary between specialities such as contaminated land, planning/licensing consultations (this is a must) and noise and nuisance investigations.
Our client requires someone who can hit the ground running and as such, you will need a minimum of working 2+ years within this field for a local authority. It would be desirable if you are EHORB registered (or equivalent) but not an essential requirement.
The contract will run for 3 months, rates are currently to be determined but can be negotiated to £26 - £30 per hour.
