We have a number of full time positions available, 1 permanent and 3 short term contracts (12 months). We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who wish to develop their expertise in the field of private sector housing. You should be a qualified Environmental Health Officer (with HHSRS certification) who has experience of Private Sector Housing enforcement.

Residential Services responds to a wide range of service requests, undertakes inspections of some of the most complex, multiply occupied, properties in the country. We are also involved in innovative project work aimed at reducing health inequalities linked to housing within the borough. You will be working in a neighbourhood team which has an integrated approach to improving housing standards and protecting the health and wellbeing of our residents.

The service operates a 36 hour working week (Mon-Fri). You will be expected to have the ability to manage a diverse caseload, serve enforcement notices, carry out prosecutions and undertake licensing activities to ensure accommodation meets statutory standards.

Excellent partnership, communication and customer care skills are essential for this role.
