Be where it all happens.
Westminster is looking to recruit for the duration of two years for the position of Senior Practitioner, to coordinate the Tideway and other major construction projects within the Council, to represent Westminster at meetings, to proactively deal with environmental construction impact and to provide advice with regards to submissions.
We are seeking a highly motivated, focused and committed member of staff to join the Environmental Sciences Team. This is a challenging role as it includes internal coordination of projects, representing Westminster in meetings as well as dealing with the construction element of the projects. The successful candidate will coordinate the Tideway project within the Council and other major projects and ensure that projects in Westminster are running smoothly.
The individual should possess excellent communication skills, along with the drive and determination to get things done. A key requirement will be the ability to work collaboratively across other agencies and services and using a partnership approach to address issues of concern.
Part of the role of the Senior Practitioner will be to:
- coordinate Westminster’s response to submissions
- represent the Council in meetings
- inspect the construction sites to ensure compliance with the permission and WCC’s Code of Construction Practice
- grant CoPA section 61 prior consents.
The position is within the Crossrail & Environmental Sciences Team. The team is commenting on planning applications, dealing with service requests related to noise, odour control, air quality and contaminated land, maintaining the Westminster air monitoring network and is advising and controlling developers and construction companies to minimize construction impact.
If you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All’. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you.
