TEMP ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (PRIVATE SECTOR ENFORCEMENT)
£12,061 - £12,994 per annum plus Essential Car User Allowance
14.8 hours per week over two days (preferably Thursday & Friday)
Temporary Job Share for up to 2 years
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and self-motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our Private Sector Enforcement team. The successful candidate will investigate all complaints of disrepair, unfitness, and other matters relating to housing conditions and to take appropriate informal/statutory action to secure necessary improvements/remedies. You will also investigate complaints of statutory nuisance (except those relating to pollution control matters) and to take action to deal with the nuisance, including filthy and verminous premises and articles.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent). Possession of an additional recognised environmental health qualification is preferred such as HHSRS certification, as is membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
The preference is for the candidate to work consecutive working days of Thursdays and Fridays, although consideration will also be given to candidates interested in working Mondays and Tuesdays.
