Senior Environmental Health Officer Environmental Protection

We are seeking to employ a suitably qualified and experienced environmental health officer to join our environmental protection team.  You will take the lead on air quality management so you will have proven experience of dealing with air quality issues. 

We have recently developed a Low Emissions Strategy and you will play a key role in its implementation and the comprehensive action planning in our air quality management areas.

You will also have the opportunity to carry out a wide range of environmental protection work using nuisance and antisocial behaviour legislation.  Your will deal with a case load of commercial noise complaints and responding to consultations on planning and licensing applications on behalf of the Environmental Health team. 

Ideally you will have a technical qualification in air quality management or acoustics together with a proven track records of dealing with a range of environmental protection work.

You must have excellent communication skills, a proven ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and an ability to act assertively to enforce legal requirements
