Noise Team Manager
Our client in South London is recruiting for a Noise Team Manager to be responsible for the management, direction and development of a team of professional and technical staff, including determining and setting priorities, analysing changes in patterns of workload, and allocating work accordingly, setting, and ensuring the achievement of, standards of performance in conformity with relevant legislation and Council and departmental policy. You will be required to monitor the performance of staff within the team to maintain and improve service delivery as well as act as the technical lead for the team.
On a day to day basis you will be preparing reports and presentations as will as attending committees, working parties, etc. as necessary. You will oversee the output of the team having responsibility to evaluate reports from teammembers of contraventions of relevant legislation and determine the action to be taken, including recommendations to the Environmental Health Manager for formal action. Where required you will attend Court, public enquiries, industrial tribunals or other forums and provide professional advice on matters related to the work of the Noise Team.
The successful applicant for this role will be a widely experienced Environmental Health Officer who has specialised in noise investigation work. Ideally you will have held a managerial post previously and you will be confident and comfortable with leading a team. You will be someone who is well organised and capable of managing the workload of others and you will be someone who strives for excellence within the service. It is important that you are able to contribute ideas to the development of the service and that you are able to lead on initiatives to improve the overall output of the team. An acoustics diploma is desirable.
The rate is negotiable depending upon experience.
