Environmental Health Technical Officer

Benfleet, Essex

£18,070 to £24,174 per annum (local scale points 18 to 27)

37 hours per week, full time permanent role

Environmental Health Services are seeking a Technical Officer to assist in the protection of public health and the local environment through a combination of advice, education and enforcement of relevant legislation. The successful applicant will provide support to Environmental Health Officers and maintain their own caseload across a diverse range of work areas including environmental protection, public health and nuisance control, private sector housing regulation, animal welfare, food safety, occupational health & safety and the provision of disabled facilities grants.

This challenging role will offer many opportunities to enhance your existing capabilities, learn new skills and start or continue a rewarding career, contributing towards the health and wellbeing of local residents & visitors to the Borough and helping to protect the wider environment.

A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C (or equivalent) including English and Maths and experience of dealing with the general public is essential for this role. Full training will be offered to the successful candidate.
