37 hours per week
Salary: £17,891 - £22,434 per annum
Post EHRB, Salary: £23,166 - £28,203 per annum
Plus Essential Car User Allowance

North Devon Council officers are dedicated and enthusiastic and committed to providing the best services. We work closely with other Devon Authorities and take the lead in driving forward change. We would like to provide an opportunity for three enthusiastic student (graduate) Environmental Health Officers to complete their Professional Learning Portfolio and gain a Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) by working in our dedicated Public Protection Service.
You must be committed to gaining EHRB Registration within 12 months and be willing to continue working with North Devon post Registration for a period of 2 years.
In return, the Council will provide you with the support and opportunity to develop your professional skills and competencies in all areas and you will work in each of the three service areas of Environmental Protection, Housing Standards and Food Safety/Health & Safety on a rotational basis and also gain experience in Licensing. You will be given delegated responsibility for all Environmental Health functional areas and be expected to operate as a professional officer based in Brynsworthy Environment Centre, Barnstaple.
This is a politically restricted post and you will be expected to liaise directly with senior Members and staff and represent the Council.
