This position requires you to declare any unspent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions Order 1975), where prompted to do so within in the application process. You are not required to disclose any spent convictions.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post.
This post is within the specialist air quality team of Cheshire East Council where air quality management is a high priority. The post holder will be responsible for the full range of air quality functions carried out both within the Environmental Protection Team and in partnership with other internal and external services. This role also includes acting as a consultee for development control applications, liaising with partners and dealing with general enquiries on air quality matters.
The post holder will have a major role to play in the development of Annual Status Reports, Air Quality Action Plans and internal policy and procedure associated with the air quality management function. The role involves management of the air quality monitoring network, use of the Airviro dispersion modelling software and associated emissions database.
The post holder must have relevant qualification and experience in air quality and be qualified to a degree level in a relevant scientific discipline. The successful candidate will be conversant with the latest planning and policy guidance relating to local air quality management and be up to date with emerging policy and scientific knowledge in the subject area.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of working within a multidisciplinary team, have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise workloads.
