ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER / ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH GRADUATE (CAREER GRADED)

Band 8-9: £28,203 - £32,164 per annum (for 37 hours)

Our Council has aspirations to become the best around, and we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our busy and friendly Public Protection Service. The Council is focussed to make a positive contribution to our communities.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer to primarily carry out functions relating to Private Sector Housing within the Borough. The Officer will be expected to improve living conditions and support some of the most vulnerable members of our community and will enhance the future of our service.

The successful applicant will also have opportunity to support the service in Food Safety, Health and Safety at Work and Communicable Diseases and will contribute to the wider functions of the team. We will be interested to receive applications from EHORB registered Environmental Health Officers or graduates with a degree in Environmental Health who are able to work towards EHORB.

We offer flexible working hours, contribution to the Local Government pension scheme and support and training within a friendly working environment. A full driving licence and use of a car is required for this post.

This is a career graded post and candidates will be appointed on the following scales:

  1. EHORB registered (£30,480 to £32,164)
  2. Environmental health degree ,BSc or MSc (£28,203 to £29,854)
