Part time (0.6FTE) 22.5hrs per week (permanent)
Local scale points 32 to 35 – £29,612 to £33,529 (pro-rata)
We are seeking an Environmental Health Officer to undertake a generalist role within a small, friendly service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to fully develop their skills across all Environmental Health disciplines. This could provide an opportunity to compliment an existing specialism, enhance future job opportunities, or to provide an accelerated start to a new career.
The job functions will include, Private Sector Housing, Environmental Protection, Public Health & Nuisance, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and the provision of Disabled Facilities Grants. Opportunity will also be given to act as lead officer for one or more of these areas of work.
Training can be provided to any candidate who does not have relevant experience in any of the job functions or requires a refresher. This should be particularly helpful to those candidates who have currently, or previously, worked in specialist areas of the profession or are returning to work after a career break.
A degree or diploma in Environmental Health and EHORB registration is required for the role. Any relevant experience would be an advantage, but consideration will also be given to candidates working towards their EHORB registration, who could potentially be taken on at Technical Officer grade until their qualification. The starting pay grade for the successful candidate will be dependent on experience.
